Kangerlussuaq Evening Kayaking w. Dinner

Dine & paddle

Combine a lovely dinner in the Roklubben Restaurant with a beautiful paddle on Lake Ferguson in the back country of Kangerlussuaq. Treat yourself with a lovely and local meal before you set out on a 2 hour evening paddle in the midnight sun.

Kayaking in Greenland is without a doubt, the best way to experience the Greenlandic nature. This is a great way to get close to parts of the nature that is only possible at sea level, without any sound and just using your own body to paddle.

Our evening tours are a special opportunity to try a local culinary experience combined with a paddle in kayak on the lake Ferguson. It’s an incredible experience, when you paddle undisturbed on Lake Ferguson under the midnight sun. There will be good chances for encounter wildlife such as musk ox and reindeer while sitting in the kayak which makes it an extraordinary way to discover Greenland.

Explore the Greenlandic Nature the Traditional Way

For more than 4,000 years, the Inuit have used the “qajaat” (traditional kayaks) for travelling and hunting in Greenland. Our experienced guide will explain you about the amazing nature, the old military base Kangerlussuaq and the fascinating story of the original kayak, which was made from sealskin and wood.

Thanks to our certified kayak-guides, modern equipment and safety protocols, we make it possible for you to kayak in this incredible landscape, even if you have never been kayaking before. For many of our guests it’s their first time in a kayak and we take pride in providing a safe and comfortable experience for everybody. We use double kayaks which are more stable in the water than single kayaks.

During the tour, your guide will take photos of you, while you paddle in this incredible scenery. The photos are included in the price and will be ready for download shortly after the tour.

All our kayak guides are certified IPP Kayaking Instructors complying with 'European Paddle Pass Standards'. All our equipment is expedition-gear made for Arctic conditions from quality brands like Kokatat.

The time spent on the water paddling is 2 hours.
